Roca Moo – Barcelona

Roca Moo is a one Michelin star restaurant in Barcelona serving Catalan food. It’s overseen by El Celler de Can Roca, which is currently considered by many to be the best restaurant in the world, with waiting times of 11 months for a table to match. Considering I can’t plan what I’ll be eating 11 months in advance, I visited Roca Moo with only a weeks notice reservation and there were available tables.

What follows is a gallery with descriptions of the meals at night. Pardon the undetailed descriptions, but I have unfortunately left this writeup for too late and have forgotten the details of the dishes, and I’m in addition missing a picture for one of the dishes, the Lamb Shank. Enjoy the pictures.

Candy with liquor. The candy is brittle, and you have to eat it in one bite. Very good way to refresh the taste buds.

Russian Salad. What looks like peas, isn't peas per-se. It's liquified peas gellified into something that does look like a pea!

Truffle Omelet. There is no shortage of truffle here. The fascinating thing is the texture of the omelet – it's puffy, and hollow on the inside.

Pig Trotters carpaccio with prawns. My least favorite dish during the evening – this might be because I'm not a fan of food that has a very fatty texture, and there is no shortage of that here. The dish is well done, but it's not for my taste buds at all.

Sole with sweet potato and mandarin. We have a well prepared sole fillet here, along with roe, and gellified sweet potatoes, and a sweet potato puree.
